Thinking Green

It's currently a flurry of white snow outside my window.  The ground has yet to give up it's snow cover anywhere in our yard. We have yet to see any tiny sign of green this spring.
So I made a warm fire & I've got green on my mind.

That last photo is me with the Jolly Green Giant.
He lives down at the south end of our state where they see green much sooner than we do.

Mason & Eric were scheduled to have their first high school baseball game of the season this afternoon, but our ball fields are still buried under snow.
I'm beginning to wonder if the ice will be off the lakes in time for the fishing opener in May.

Thinking green thoughts!

*Many of the photos lead to a story if you click on them.
Except for the Green Giant - It's just he & I.

  1. This is so nice to look at. Even though our snow is 90% melted we still don't have any spring. Oh and it is supposed to snow tonight, up to 4 inches! I love your blog, all of your photos are just amazing. I am now going to click on the links to see more photos.

  2. Thank you for your comment on my blog! You should definitely get some chicks from your nephew! They are so fun to raise and take pictures of... Do you know what breed he is hatching?

    1. It sounds like they have quite a variety (they have a variety of about 30 chickens), but their favorites are their buffs & cochins.
We had Rhode Island Reds back when we had chickens.
We have also had guinea hens and roan ducks. I feel it's a shame that our little chicken coop is going unused!

  3. Nice to see all your green pictures! Even the Jolly Green Giant down here in the southern part of the state has not seen any green either. We had about a foot of snow here in SW MN the last couple of days.

  4. I hope these beautiful green thoughts help with the snow. A cold front is moving through Tennessee tonight, but we should stay above freezing and get only rain. I hope your snow and ice is soon gone and you can enjoy baseball and fishing.

    1. Thanks, George.
Still 2 1/2 feet of ice on the lake where my husband is working. Temps in the teens at night aren't helping the thaw effort! The sun is strong when it shines, though.

  5. I don't know about you, but I have a feeling when this late winter weather ends, we'll be in the throws of heat. Then we can lament about that because that's what we do! Lol. Love your green collage -- gorgeous!

My mother was from MN...she told us many stories of her winter adventures...seems that the weather hasn't changed!
