Happiness is a Butterfly

We had this beautiful swallowtail visit us the other day.
It stayed for two days, hanging out on our back deck, before flying away.

"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."  -Nathaniel Hawthorne

The days have been mild.  The nights are cool.  I canned eight jars of rhubarb sauce last night.  Tomorrow happens to be my birthday.  Almost officially summer.

  10. Happy Birthday Amanda! Did you need any "lure" to get the swallowtail to land? You don't need to answer that. Lol. Hope you had a wonderful birthday.

  11. Wonderful captures, how cool that it stuck around and allowed you to handle it. We apparently get lame butterflies - to the extent we get any, I haven't seen a lot of them yet this summer.

  12. oh my! I don't know how you did that! Gorgeous captures. I've seen like two lame white ones this year and didn't manage to get them in picture :) But I'm happy to see your creations.

As for your question in my previous post. The rainbow was totally fake *lol*
