Cherries

We have cherries on our cherry tree!
We covered the tree in bird netting, and it appears to have worked at keeping them from robbing us of fruit.
We picked our first handful Sunday... I'm off to see if more are ready today.
Last year we grew our first two (yes, two) cherries.
This is a rather exciting deal.

PS:  It's been a while now, and I'm loving not doing portrait work, but I finally updated my portfolio blog this week, with some senior photos I took last fall.  (Cleaning the computer files out.. probably more to come.)  If you're interested.. you can see them here.  (Ignore the dated header that's gone wonky.)

  2. You are smart to 'cover' your tree..... Otherwise, the birds would get all of those delicious cherries... Enjoy them... YUM.

  5. Yum, cherries from your very own tree. My grandfather in Lancaster, PA had two trees we would climb to pick. Long time ago!

  9. The cherries are gorgeous! Good luck with having a big harvest! Having had the birds eat our concord grapes in the past, I know just how important that netting is. I can't imagine trying to drape it over a tree!
