Lean On Me {Songography}

Lean on me - when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend,  I'll help you carry on
For - it won't be long - 'Til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on

-Lean On Me (Bill Withers)

This happens to be one of my favorite songs to play on the piano.
And so true.  We all need somebody to lean on.

Having twins has been something of a phenomenon to watch in this area.  They've had someone to lean on every day of their life, going through pretty much the same things the other is going through each step of the way.
"Call on me, brother, when you need a hand"

I've watched as those twins have become big brothers to lean on from other angles.

"If there is a load You have to bear..
that you can't carry
I'm right up the road, I'll share your load
If you just call me"

There are times it's just better to have someone there..
when we're learning something new or challenging.

Or to share in our accomplishments & joys with.

It's an interesting relationship, siblings.
I hope our kids can always count on each other to lean on.

And while it's our job to see to it that they grow to stand strong on their own.. to be leaned on is what we're here for as parents.

No matter how strong, independent, & sufficient we are..  there are times when having someone to lean on is what makes all the difference in our lives.

I'm so thankful for all of the above!

  2. I am sooooo glad you joined up this week with Song-ography. How blessed you all are to have this amazing family. Twins. I always wished that I had the privelege of raising a set of twins. My Aunts are a set of twins, and I've always marvelled at their dynamic and relationship. It must truly be something to behold as a mother. Truly the ultimate someone to "lean on me". And from a photography standpoint, can I just tell you that I love how you capture the light in so many of your shots. Particularly the one of the two reading on the sofa, and that last capture. I am such a fan of anyone who can utilize light in such an beautiful and effective way. You've got a new follower here. So glad we found each other, and thank you for joining in on Song-ography this week! :)

  14. As a twin, I can tell you there is no greater bond then having someone to lean on when you need them most! My sister and I have been best friends, worst enemies, and everything in between. But at the end of the day, that's my sister and no one messes with her!!
